An ant went to the bank of a river to quench its thirst, and being carried away by the rush of the stream, was on the point of drowning.

A Dove sitting on a tree overhanging the water plucked a leaf and let it fall into the stream close to her.

The Ant climbed onto it and floated in safety to the bank. Shortly afterwards a bird catcher came and stood under the tree, and laid his lime-twigs for the Dove, which sat in the branches. The Ant, perceiving his design, stung him in the foot. In pain the bird catcher threw down the twigs, and the noise made the Dove take wing.

英语小故事: The one-eyed doe



A doe had lost one of her eyes, and could not see anyone approaching her from one side.

In order to avoid any danger, she always ate on a high cliff near the sea, and looked at the land with her good eye when she was eating.

By this means she could see whenever the hunters approached her on land.

But one hunter found out that she was blind in one eye. He rowed a boat under the cliff, and shot her from the sea.

I went hiking to a mountain with my friends last summer. It was a good trip at the beginning but something unexpected happened on the half way. One of my friends suddenly felt a terrible pain in his stomach and he couldn't move any further. Nobody knew what to do. One girl tried to call her mum with her mobile phone but there was no signal in the mountain area. Luckily we brought a tent with us. We put it up and let him rest in it. He took some medicine. Then he drank some water, and ate some food. After a while, he felt much better and we walked on. We all enjoyed ourselves on the top of the mountain.

何谓积极向上？

　　有人说，积极向上是一种心态；

　　有人说，积极向上是一种状态；

　　有人说，积极向上是一种追求；

　　有人说，积极向上是一种精神。

　　我以为，积极向上是一种人格品质，而且，与其他构成人格品质的因素不同，积极向上是构成人格品质中，最具基础性意义的，最具决定、统领和引导性的因素。因为对一个社会人而言，只有积极向上，才能有追求；只有积极向上，才会有理想；只有积极向上，才富有激情。一言以蔽之，只有积极向上，才能激活其他一切优秀品质的优秀元素。

　　譬如：坚韧不拔是一种优秀品质，但坚韧不拔必须建立在积极向上的基础之上；只有积极向上，才可能坚韧不拔。

　　诚实守信是一种优秀品质，但诚实守信必须建立在积极向上的基础之上；只有积极向上，才可能诚实守信。

　　富贵不能淫、贫贱不能移、威武不能屈是一种优秀品质，但这些优秀品质必须建立在积极向上的基础之上；只有积极向上，才可能坚持真理、保持气节。

　　古今中外类似事例不胜枚举，比如周文王。支撑文王拘而演周易的力量是什么？是积极向上。正是积极向上这一品质，才使文王位居下而心向上、身被拘而意不沉，“千磨万击还坚劲，任尔东西南北风”，始终积极地面对人生。

　　如果说积极向上是人格品质中最具基础性意义的、决定性、统领性和引导性因素，那么如何理解老子所言的无为而治？从字面上讲，“无为”是无所作为、无所事事。但认真体悟不难发现，这种理解甚为偏颇。作为一种治国理念，无为而治建立在“道”的哲学思想基础之上。老子说：“天下之至柔，驰骋天下之至坚。无有入无间，吾是以知无为之有益。不言之教，无为之益，天下希及之。”意思是说，天下最柔弱的东西，纵横弛骋在天下最坚强的地方，于是我知道了无所作为是有益的。正是因为无所作为是有益的，天下都希望达到无为的境界。因此我们说，“无为而治”决不是要人们消极无为，而是要人们积极有为，其最终目的是以“无为”之欲实现社会自我管理。同样，表象看，姜子牙磻溪垂钓、诸葛亮躬耕南阳、竹林七贤恬淡一生、陶渊明采菊东篱都有些消极成分。但深研细究就会发现，子牙垂钓、孔明躬耕，琴曲有异，但异曲同工，都是为了遇明主，展抱负。可见，“无为”的内里，蕴含着一种积极向上的品质。如果不以积极向上为支撑，很可能既无老子、七贤的千古名篇，也无子牙、诸葛这样的千古名相。“夫唯不争，故天下莫能与之争”，从这个意义上讲，他们看似消极、看似无为，实则积极、实则向上，是积极向上在更高精神层面的一种表现形态。

　　那么，积极向上作为一种人格品质，其根本特征是什么呢？我以为，至少表现在人生态度、人生追求和人生意志三个方面：

　　第一，在人生态度上，无论贫富、贵贱、宠辱、欣戚，无论多少误解、委屈、冤枉，任何时候、任何情况下，都始终保持阳光心理、灿烂心态，容事、容物、容人。

　　第二，在人生追求上，无论顺逆、高下、起落、远近，任何时候、任何情况下，都始终坚守初衷、恒守志向。

　　第三，在人生意志上，无论多少艰难困苦、多少挫折磨难、多少急流险滩，也无论财富多少、成就丰欠，任何时候、任何情况下，都始终不气馁、不放弃，向上之步不停，向上之作不止，向上之志不坠，向上之求不减。

只要不写反面的（譬如：努力学习，积极工作，助人为乐等等）

我觉得这主题可以这么做：
1.找些少年励志故事抄上去，鼓励同学，这样的内容向上吧？
2.找些青春期同学们会遇到的烦恼和答案，弄上去，给大家答案，符合中学生身心发展吧？
3.学科科目的一些难题几道，这样有兴趣的同学可以得到知道的扩展。
4.一些励志的文言文，初中语文课本有的《送东阳马生序》。
5.画一些给人阳光的配图，比如向日葵。
